Client: E.S. Fox, an Ontario industrial fabricator/contractor; engagement delivered through Whitecap Canada.

Challenge: Migrate approximately 4 TB of legacy DocuShare content — documents, metadata, and permissions — to SharePoint Online without taking the production document environment down. The legacy DocuShare environment had years of accumulated structure that didn’t map cleanly to SharePoint Online’s IA model.

Our approach:

  • Defined the target information architecture up front: site hierarchy, content types, taxonomy, and permission model — before a single document moved.
  • Built custom migration code to transform source structures into the target SharePoint shape (off-the-shelf migration tools didn’t handle the DocuShare metadata + permission combinations cleanly).
  • Validated records in flight — every batch had reconciliation against the source before sign-off.
  • Ran phased cutovers so the production environment stayed available throughout.

Outcome: ~4 TB of DocuShare content lifted into a modern SharePoint Online IA with permissions and metadata preserved, and a defensible content model going forward rather than the inherited folder sprawl.

Reference engagement — TD Wealth (SharePoint 2013 → SPO, 1+ TB)

Client: TD Wealth.

Challenge: Two-year engagement consolidating SharePoint workloads into SharePoint Online — 1+ TB of SP2013 content across business units, with the integration components and report-distribution platforms that wealth-management operations actually run on.

Our approach:

  • Tool-based migration (ShareGate) for the bulk content lift, with phased waves and validation checkpoints.
  • Built C#/.NET integration components against Microsoft Graph, REST, and CSOM for report distribution and content operations across the Wealth tenant.
  • Designed and implemented the Wealth Report Center (WRC) — a SharePoint Online report distribution hub backed by a custom .NET 6 C# service that monitors NAS folders, ingests reports, and uploads them with the right metadata applied.
  • L3 production support of team sites, custom lists, workflows, and security across the live environment for the duration of the engagement.

Outcome: 1+ TB of SP2013 content modernized onto SharePoint Online; the WRC platform replaced a manual file-drop pattern with an audit-friendly automated ingest.
